UP Maharajganj Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 – 305 Posts (Karyakartri & Sahayika)

The Office of the District Programme Officer, Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh has released a fresh recruitment notification for 305 Anganwadi Karyakartri (Worker) and Sahayika (Helper) positions under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. This is one of the biggest Anganwadi hiring rounds in the district for the 2026–27 cycle. Women candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online through the official portal upanganwadibharti.in before 01 September 2026 (midnight).

The recruitment is purely merit-based. There is no written examination and no interview. Merit will be prepared solely on the marks obtained in Intermediate (Class 12th) up to Postgraduate level. High School (Class 10th) marks will not be counted for merit calculation. Only women residents of the same Gram Sabha (rural area) or ward (urban area) are eligible to apply for posts in their respective areas.

A total of 305 Anganwadi posts are available in Maharajganj district under the ICDS scheme. The post-wise distribution is as follows:

Educational Qualification

• Minimum: Intermediate (Class 12th) or equivalent from a recognized board
• Maximum considered for merit: Postgraduate degree
• Note: Only Intermediate to Postgraduate marks will be used for merit calculation. High School (Class 10th) marks are not counted.

Age Limit

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 35 years
• Reference date: As on 01 July 2026
• Age relaxation rules as per UP Government norms will apply.

Gender

• Only women candidates are eligible for these posts.

Residency Requirement

• The candidate must be a resident of the same Gram Sabha (in rural areas) or same ward (in urban areas) where the Anganwadi centre is located.
• Important: Two women from the same family cannot be appointed at one Anganwadi centre. Only one woman per family per centre is allowed.

The selection for UP Maharajganj Anganwadi posts is 100% merit-based. There is no written test and no interview. Here is how the merit is calculated:

Merit Calculation Method

• Add marks from Intermediate (Class 12th) through Postgraduate (all years/semesters combined percentage)
• Divide the total percentage by 10 to get the merit score
• Example: If a candidate has 72% aggregate from Intermediate to Postgraduate, the merit score = 72 ÷ 10 = 7.2
• Higher the merit score, better the chances of selection
• High School (Class 10th) marks are not included in any calculation
