North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has released an official notification inviting online applications for the recruitment of 7 Junior Engineer posts in S-1 Grade on a regular basis. The vacancies are available in Electrical (3 posts) and Mechanical (4 posts) disciplines at Agartala Gas Based Power Station and Tripura Gas Based Power Station in Tripura.

Educational Qualification

• Junior Engineer (Electrical): Full Time Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution
• Junior Engineer (Mechanical): Full Time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering from a recognized institution

Minimum Marks Required

• UR/EWS Candidates: 70% aggregate marks in Diploma
• SC/ST Candidates: Pass marks (no minimum percentage requirement)

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

• Unreserved (UR)/EWS: Maximum 30 years
• SC/ST: Maximum 35 years
• Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules for reserved categories

Domicile Requirement

• Candidates must be domicile of Tripura state
• Candidates must be registered in the Employment Exchange at Agartala or Sepahijala district of Tripura
• This is a mandatory requirement — candidates not meeting this criterion will not be considered

The selected candidates will be placed in the IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) Pay Scale with an attractive compensation package:

• Pay Scale: Rs. 29,300 — 3% — Rs. 1,19,700 (IDA Pattern)
• Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 29,300 per month
• Monthly CTC (Approximate): Rs. 59,000
• Grade: S-1
• Other Benefits: DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, Medical Benefits, PF, Pension as per NEEPCO rules

Note: During the 2-year training period, candidates will receive a stipend as per NEEPCO norms. Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be regularized in the S-1 grade.

Selected candidates will undergo a 2-year training period at NEEPCO power stations in Tripura. During the training period, candidates will receive a stipend as per NEEPCO norms. Upon successful completion of the training period and satisfactory performance evaluation, candidates will be regularized in the S-1 grade on a regular basis.

The training will provide hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of gas-based power generation facilities. Trainees will be exposed to practical aspects of power plant operations under the guidance of experienced engineers.
