Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has invited applications for 30 Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi posts on a fixed-term contract basis in its Mechanical/Project Department. This is a contractual engagement for an initial period of one year, extendable up to five years based on satisfactory performance.

A total of 30 vacancies are available for the post of Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi on a fixed-term contract basis in the Mechanical/Project Department. The number of posts is liable to change as per the requirement of the Project.

• A panel of standby candidates over and above the notified requirement will also be maintained as per merit, and may be engaged as per KRCL's requirement within the validity of the panel.
• These are not regular establishment posts. Contract appointees will not be absorbed into KRCL's regular service.

Educational Qualification

• Minimum 10th standard pass from a recognized board.
• Physically fit for general office duty, housekeeping, and maintenance duties.

Work Experience

• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience.

Job Description

• Assist technicians/artisans (fitters, welders, electricians, carpenters) in POH/NPOH activities, including repairs and maintenance of rolling stock, wheel sets, bogies, springs, and alternators.
• Carry out material handling within workshop premises - lifting, shifting, loading/unloading of spares, wheels, and components; support tool handling, cleaning, and arrangement for maintenance activities.
• Maintain shop-floor housekeeping, cleanliness of machines/tools, proper disposal of waste; provide basic office support (file handling, document movement, upkeep of office areas) as assigned.

• Ex-Servicemen age relaxation is discretionary.

• Consolidated remuneration is inclusive of Basic, DA, HRA, Conveyance, and Mobile Allowance.
• Remuneration will increase by 4% after completion of every year, subject to KRCL's requirement and discretion.

Selection for Konkan Railway Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi Recruitment 2026 is through a walk-in interview. The selection stages are as follows:

• Stage 1 - Registration: Candidates report and register with the nominated KRCL official at the walk-in venue between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs on 10 September 2026.
• Stage 2 - Group Discussion / Elimination Round: A Group Discussion (GD) or another elimination round (such as a written test) may be introduced depending on the number of candidates; only those who clear this round proceed further.
• Stage 3 - Interview: After preliminary screening of the applications submitted in person, only provisionally eligible candidates are interviewed by a nominated Committee.

• Initial contract period is 1 year, extendable up to 5 years based on satisfactory performance; KRCL may terminate the contract if performance is found unsatisfactory during the contract period.
• Selected candidates will be posted at the Rolling Stock Component Factory, Lote, but can be posted/transferred anywhere within KRCL establishment during the contract period, based on requirement.
• Selected candidates must execute an agreement and an indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in favour of KRCL, on a stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more.
• Contract appointees will not be absorbed into KRCL's regular service, and must give a written undertaking that they have no right to claim permanent absorption.
• Either party may terminate the contract with one month's notice, or payment/remuneration in lieu thereof.
• No accommodation will be provided; no food or food/mess allowance is payable by KRCL.
