Eligibility to Apply — Who Can Apply for KRCL 2026?
This is where the Konkan Railway recruitment gets a bit different from other railway jobs. KRCL has specific eligibility criteria that prioritise certain categories of candidates. The recruitment is not open to everyone on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a clear preference order that KRCL follows while selecting candidates.
First preference goes to Land Loser candidates. These are candidates whose land was acquired for construction of the Konkan Railway Line between Roha in Maharashtra and Thokur in Karnataka, irrespective of the percentage of land lost. The land loser or their spouse, son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter are eligible under this quota. The Track Maintainer post is exclusively for Land Loser candidates.
Second preference is for candidates registered in Employment Exchanges along the Konkan Railway route. You must be a domicile of Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka with a valid employment exchange card registered in the specific districts — Raigad, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, Goa State, and Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka. Third preference goes to candidates domiciled in Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka who are not covered above, and serving KRCL employees with at least 3 years of regular service.
- First Preference: Land Loser candidates (spouse, son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter eligible)
- Second Preference: Employment Exchange registered candidates along Konkan Railway route
- Third Preference: Domiciles of Maharashtra/Goa/Karnataka and KRCL employees with 3+ years service
- Track Maintainer: ONLY for eligible Land Loser candidates
- Candidates must declare their status at the time of application — choice is final
- Second and third panels operated only after exhausting land loser panel
