Eligibility Criteria

  • Stenographer Grade-II: Candidates must have passed 12th class (Senior Secondary) examination from a recognized board or university. Must possess stenography skills as prescribed by the department.
  • Tax Assistant: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university. Must have Data Entry Speed Test (DES) qualification as per the prescribed norms.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) examination from a recognized board or university.
  • Sports Qualification (All Posts): Candidates must have represented the State in a National Competition or represented a University in an Inter-University Sports Meet conducted by the Association of Indian Universities, or won a medal in National Games organized under the aegis of Indian Olympic Association, or won a medal in State Schools National Competition, or won a medal at the International level in sports.

  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 to 25 years
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates by 5 years, for OBC candidates by 3 years, for PwD (General) candidates by 10 years, for PwD (OBC) candidates by 13 years, and for PwD (SC/ST) candidates by 15 years as per Government of India rules. Ex-Servicemen and other categories will also get relaxation as per applicable rules.

Selection Process

The selection for Income Tax Pune Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 will be done through the following process:

  • Step 1 – Shortlisting of Applications: Applications will be shortlisted based on sports achievements, eligibility, and qualification criteria.

Salary / Pay Scale

  • Stenographer Grade-II: Pay Level-4, Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100 (as per 7th CPC)
  • Tax Assistant: Pay Level-4, Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100 (as per 7th CPC)
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Pay Level-1, Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 56,900 (as per 7th CPC)
  • Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other allowances as per Central Government rules will be applicable in addition to the basic pay.
  • Gross Salary: In-hand salary will be approximately Rs. 30,000 – 40,000 for Tax Assistant and Steno Grade-II and Rs. 20,000 – 28,000 for MTS depending on the city of posting and applicable allowances.

Job Profile

  • Stenographer Grade-II: Stenography work, taking dictations, preparing office correspondence, assisting senior officers in official work, maintaining records and files, and other duties as assigned by the department.
  • Tax Assistant: Data entry, maintaining tax records, assisting in tax assessment and collection work, processing of tax returns, handling correspondence with taxpayers, and other administrative duties.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): General housekeeping, carrying files and documents, assisting in office work, dispatch work, maintenance of office premises, and any other non-clerical tasks assigned by the department.
