AIIMS Patna Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 — 60 Posts

AIIMS Patna has announced 60 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) vacancies across 25 departments. The distribution includes 20 UR, 13 OBC, 13 SC, 4 ST, and 10 EWS posts. The departments with the most vacancies are Anaesthesiology (6), General Surgery (6), General Medicine (5), and Radiation Oncology (4).

The walk-in interviews are scheduled across three days: 01 June 2026 (Group 1 — 8 departments), 02 June 2026 (Group 2 — 8 departments), and 03 June 2026 (Group 3 — 9 departments). Candidates must report at 09:00 AM at the E-classroom, Administrative Building, AIIMS Patna.

Candidates must possess MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch or equivalent qualification in the relevant department, recognized by MCI, NMC, or NBE. For Clinical Haematology, MD General Medicine and MD Paediatrics candidates are also eligible. The upper age limit is 45 years as on the date of walk-in interview.

Relaxations are available: OBC gets 3 years (48 years), SC/ST gets 5 years (50 years), PwBD gets 10 years (55 years), and Ex-Servicemen gets 5 years (50 years). Age is calculated as on the date of walk-in interview. Note: candidates applying against UR vacancies are not eligible for relaxation.

The application fee is ₹1,500 for General/OBC candidates and ₹1,200 for SC/ST/EWS candidates. Ex-Servicemen, Women candidates, and PwBD candidates are fully exempted. The fee must be paid via Demand Draft only, drawn in favour of "AIIMS, Patna" and payable at AIIMS, Patna. Cash, cheque, and other payment modes are not accepted.

The selection is based on walk-in interview performance only. There is no written examination. The process includes physical reporting, document verification, interview, merit preparation, result publication on the website, medical fitness verification, and joining. In case of a tie, the older candidate is ranked higher.

The Senior Resident post carries Pay Level-11 under the 7th CPC with a basic pay of ₹67,700. In addition, NPA (Non-Practising Allowance) is applicable along with usual admissible allowances. The recruitment is on an ad-hoc basis for a tenure of 89 days.
