Q8. What is the selection process for JKSSB UT Cadre 2026?
Selection is based solely on the merit obtained in the written OMR-based objective type MCQ examination. There is no interview or skill test. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification. The examination is conducted in English with negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) marks per wrong answer.
Q9. Is there negative marking in the JKSSB exam?
Yes, there is negative marking. One-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to each question will be deducted for each wrong answer. Unanswered questions will not attract any negative marking. Questions are objective type multiple choice in English.
Q10. What is the salary for JKSSB UT Cadre posts?
Salary depends on the pay level of the post — SL-1 (Rs. 14,800-47,100), Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200), Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100), Level-6 (Rs. 35,400-1,12,400), up to Level-6F (Rs. 40,800-1,29,200). DA, HRA, TA, and medical benefits are additional as per J&K Government rates.
Q11. Where will selected candidates be posted?
Postings will be in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir across Jammu Division, Kashmir Division, and Anantnag district, depending on the cadre of the post (UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre Jammu/Kashmir, or District Cadre). Specific location depends on the Indenting Department and appointing authority.
