During the four-year tenure, candidates serve as Agniveers and receive structured training, salary increments, and operational exposure. After completing the engagement period, up to 25% of candidates from each batch may be selected for permanent enrolment as sailors in the Indian Navy based on performance and organizational requirements. The remaining candidates receive the Seva Nidhi package and valuable skill certifications that can help them pursue employment in government or private sectors. Specific Eligibility and Operational Requirements
The Indian Navy requires candidates for Agniveer MR recruitment to meet several specific eligibility conditions that ensure operational readiness. Applicants must have passed the Matriculation (10th) examination with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. Physical fitness is another essential requirement because naval duties often involve physically demanding activities both at sea and on land. Candidates must successfully complete the Physical Fitness Test including a 1.6 km run, push-ups, squats, and sit-ups within prescribed time limits. Training, Posting Locations and Service Conditions
Selected candidates for the Agniveer MR recruitment will undergo training at INS Chilka located in Odisha. The training program is designed to prepare candidates for naval responsibilities including ship operations, discipline, and maritime tasks. After training, Agniveers may be posted at naval bases, ships, or operational units across India depending on service requirements. Since naval operations require high mobility, candidates must be willing to work anywhere in the country and sometimes onboard naval vessels for extended periods. The service conditions also specify that Agniveers cannot request voluntary discharge during the four-year tenure except in exceptional circumstances approved by competent authority.
