Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – HAL Non-Executive Recruitment 2026
1. What is the last date to apply for HAL Non-Executive Recruitment 2026?
The last date and time to submit the online application is 25 February 2026, 1700 hours (5:00 PM). The application portal will close exactly at this time.
2. Can I apply for both Helicopter MRO Division and Bangalore Based Division posts?
No. Candidates can submit only one application for this recruitment. You must choose the division and post you are eligible for and apply accordingly. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation.
3. I have a B.E. degree but also a Diploma. Can I apply for Diploma Technician post?
No. The notification explicitly states that "Higher qualification → Application Rejected." Your B.E. degree will make you ineligible for Diploma Technician posts. You cannot suppress your higher qualification.
4. Is the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) mandatory for ITI Technician posts?
Yes, absolutely mandatory. Candidates with only ITI NTC (National Trade Certificate) without NAC are not eligible. The route is either 10th + ITI + NAC OR Direct 3 years NAC.
5. What is the age limit for OBC candidates applying for Technician posts?
For Diploma and ITI Technician posts, OBC-NCL candidates have a maximum age limit of 31 years as on 14 January 2026.
6. Is there negative marking in the written examination?
No. The written test of 160 MCQs carrying 160 marks has no negative marking. Candidates should attempt all questions.
7. I am a civilian with 5 years of security experience. Can I apply for Security Guard post?
No. The Security Guard post is exclusively for Ex-Servicemen (Combatant). Civilian experience, even if extensive, does not meet the eligibility criteria.
8. What is the job location for these posts?
The initial posting will be at the division you applied for (Helicopter MRO Division or Bangalore Based Divisions). However, HAL reserves the right to transfer you anywhere in India.
9. Is this a permanent government job in HAL?
No. This is a tenure-based engagement for 4 years. It is not permanent employment. There is no claim for regularization after the tenure ends.
10. Can final year Diploma students apply?
No. Only candidates who have already passed the Diploma examination and possess the final certificate/marksheet by the application deadline are eligible.
11. What is the minimum percentage required in Diploma/ITI for SC/ST candidates?
SC/ST/PwBD candidates require a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their full-time Diploma/ITI course.
12. I have done Diploma through distance education. Am I eligible?
No. Only Regular/Full-Time qualifications are accepted. Distance learning, correspondence, or part-time Diplomas are strictly ineligible.
13. What documents are needed for OBC-NCL reservation?
You need a valid OBC-NCL certificate issued by a competent authority in the Central Government format, issued on or after the cut-off date specified in the notification.
14. Is there an interview for Technician posts?
No. There is no interview. Selection is purely based on the written test score, followed by document verification and medical examination.
15. I am an Ex-Apprentice of HAL. What relaxation am I eligible for?
HAL Ex-Apprentices can get their apprenticeship period considered for age relaxation. The exact calculation will be as per the terms in the detailed notification.
16. Can I claim both category relaxation and experience-based relaxation?
Yes, relaxations are cumulative, but the maximum age after all relaxations is 55 years (56 years for PwBD).
17. What is the Heavy Vehicle Driving License requirement for Fireman?
Fireman candidates must possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Transport/NT) as on the date of application. A learner's license is not sufficient.
18. I forgot to take a printout after submitting the form. What should I do?
Log in again using your registration credentials. The option to download the submitted application is usually available. Save a PDF copy immediately.
19. Is the exam conducted only in Bangalore?
Yes, as per the notification, the exam venue is Bangalore. Candidates must be prepared to travel to Bangalore for the written test.
20. Will I get TA/DA for attending the written exam?
No. The notification clearly states "No TA for Written Test." Candidates must bear their own travel and accommodation expenses.
