Computer knowledge proof is not required during application submission but becomes mandatory at the appointment stage. Candidates without formal certificates must obtain one from a recognized institute before final appointment to avoid disqualification.
12. How is the final merit list prepared?
The final merit list is prepared based only on main examination marks. Preliminary exam scores are used only for screening and don't contribute to final merit. Within each category, candidates are ranked based on their main exam performance.
13. What is the fee refund policy?
Examination fees are refunded only to candidates who appear for the preliminary examination. Those who remain absent or whose applications are rejected do not receive any refund. The refund is processed through the original payment mode used during application.
14. Can NRI or OCI cardholders apply?
Only Indian citizens or those eligible under Rule-7 of Gujarat Civil Services (General) Rules, 1967, can apply. OCI/NRI cardholders are generally not eligible unless specifically permitted under the aforementioned rules.
15. Where will posting be located after selection?
Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in Gujarat as per administrative requirements of the respective departments. The initial posting is generally not negotiable, though transfer requests may be considered later as per government transfer policies.
